the Haverstraw's Harvest Farmers Market Opening Celebration on Sunday
July 11!
Featuring Special guest Chef David Martinez of Union Restaurant doing a
Cooking Challenge at 10am, where he will be given surprise ingredients
from the market and challenged to make a dish highlighting our local
bounty on the spot! The opening day also includes ceramics exhibition
and demonstration by local artist Cathy McErlean-Goddard, Ask the Master
Gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension, blogging demo with
Haverstraw Life, jewelry, Raffle (at noon) Kids Corner activities and
more!
The Market currently features Fresh-picked Fruits & Vegetables, Local
Organic Prepared Foods from True Food, Corn, Wild Mushrooms, Organic
Eggs, Bread Alone's Organic & Artisanal Breads, Pastries and Pies,
Organic & Fair Trade Coffees (locally roasted, Locally scented Teas,
Herbs, Plants, Flowers, Baked Goods, Demos by Cornell Cooperative
Extension, Live music, Art and craft exhibitions, Kids Corner, Antiques,
and Demos by local gourmet restaurants including Antoine McGuire and
Union Restaurant - with lots more to come.
